About The Project

I had trouble fitting all my guitars in my room so I decided to build a guitar rack to hold 6 guitars against a wall. Its a really simple design with a few 2x2's, 2x4's, 7/8'' wooden dowel, and a cork sheet all bought from Rona.

If you push it sideways it is a bit flimsy. Maybe putting some wood to make triangles would reinforce it. Luckily, almost all the force is vertical so the rack never moves left to right. This rack is a work in progress. I plan to eventually paint it, and I'm curious to see how long the cork will last, I'll give updates.

This is a really awesome stand. But answer me this question: if I apply a load axially along that top beam will the structure be stable and statically determinate?
